Day-by-Day Referee Schedule
Once you’ve been approved as a CYS Referee, you can apply to referee Saturday games. Make sure you complete these tasks for every week that you wish to work!! Download a copy of the Referee Weekly Schedule.
Sunday: Enter Your Availability
Enter your availability into the Referee Google Form here. Remember that you must be available 15 minutes before your game starts. If you can’t work at all this Saturday, don’t fill out the Availability Form.
DEADLINE: Sunday midnight
Tuesday: Check Referee Schedule
CYS posts the Referee Schedule on Tuesday afternoon. Check after 3:00PM to see if you’ve been assigned a Saturday game. If you haven’t received an assignment, we’ll try to give you a game next week.
Wednesday: Confirm Your Game Assignment
Confirm that you will ref your assigned game by leaving your initials TODAY on the Referee Schedule. You can also leave notes such as you can’t ref that game after all or you’re available to work other games.
DEADLINE: Wednesday midnight
Friday: Double Check Your Assignment
Double check the Referee Schedule to make sure your game assignment hasn’t changed. If there’s an issue, notify CYS ASAP.
Saturday: Game Day! Have Fun!
Check in with a Referee Coordinator at least 15 minutes before your assigned game starts. Then go your field to meet the coaches and check player equipment. Jot down the final score. And don’t forget your Ref kit:
- Referee shirt
- Whistle
- Stopwatch
- Put away your phone
Get Paid! Enter Your Game Log. Enter your Referee Game Log tonight. This confirms that you’ve worked your game and ensures you’ll get paid. If you encountered any issues, including unsportsmanlike behavior, tell us in the Game Log.
